Flyovers & Junction Improvements where work is completed - Chembur Mankhurd Link Road
Government of Maharashtra has decided to construct 50 flyovers in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. These flyovers are located on three expressways i.e. Sion - Panvel Road, Eastern - Express Highway, Western Express Highway and important roads in BMC area. These flyovers will eliminate at grade intersections on these expressways and will ensure faster, safer movement of traffic along these corridors. They will improve the traffic on cross roads and will also lead to safer pedestrian movement across highways. The total cost of flyover project is Rs. 1550 crores.
First flyover to be completed out of this project is flyover on junction of Chembur Mankhurd Link Road on Sion Panvel Highway. The flyover is completed in 12 months against contract period of 17 months. This has been possible due to use of modern machinery and latest construction techniques used in construction. Also liberal contract provisions such as incentives for early completion has motivated the contractors to complete the work earlier.
