Approach Road at Bandra side - Salient Features  
1. Name of Work Construction of Solid Approach road from end of improved Mahim flyover upto start of Toll plaza area on Bandra side.
2. Value of contract Rs. 54.29 Crore
3. Date of commencement of work July 2, 1999
4. Date of completion of work & Opening to Traffic Feb 26, 2003
5. Project Details
 
» Solid approach of Concrete Pavement about 1 Km length of 8 lanes on embankment with 5 meter wide central median.
» Street roads connecting K. C. Marg, with solid approach road.
» Promenade: 20 metre wide Promenade on sea side with high level pathway of width 5 meter and a jogging track of width 2 meter.
» Pedestrian underpass at Rangsharda end: A pedestrian underpass of 2.20 meter clear height and 5 meter width constructed at Rangsharda end to provide access to public in promenade area.
» Pedestrian and Vehicular underpass at Bandra Reclamation: A combined access for both vehicles and pedestrians separated by an intermediate concrete wall is constructed to provide access from Reclamation side to South Carriageway and Promenade. Pedestrian underpass – Clear height 4.50m.; width 5.00m
Vehicular underpass -- Clear height 4.50m. ; width 8.00m
» Landscaping on slope of embankment, Central median & Promenade
6. Traffic Movements:
  South carriageway: Traffic from Airport to Worli (Planned)
Presently
it will be for Traffic from Airport to Reclamation (temporary access)
North carriageway: Traffic from Worli to Airport (Planned)
Presently
it will be for Traffic from Reclamation to Airport.
Street Road ‘A’: Traffic from Reclamation to Worli (Planned)
Street Road ‘B’: Traffic from Worli to Reclamation (Planned)
Presently
it will be for Traffic from Airport / Dadar / Mahim / Andheri to Reclamation
Street Road ‘C’: Traffic from Reclamation to Airport / Kalanagar
Special Instructions: Traffic from Reclamation to Mahim / Dadar are requested to use K. C. Marg and take right turn under the interchange or alternatively they can use this new road to go up to Kalanagar Flyover and take a U-turn below
