Prevention of Defacement of
MSRDC properties - Flyovers, Bridges & Subways etc.
It has come to the
notice of MSRDC that defacements in the form of unauthorised
posters, slogans, advertisements, banners etc. to the walls, piers,
poles, name boards, information boards and other parts of this
flyovers, bridges, subways properties belonging to MSRDC on Sion
Panvel Highway, Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway,
Bandra Worli Sea Link, N.M.Joshi Marg, Fergusson Marg, as well as
Airoli Bridge, JJ & Sion flyovers in Mumbai, Thane and Navi
Mumbai Area are carried. Such activities are prohibited under
Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1995. Also,
under this Act, whoever by himself or through any other person
defaces any place open to public view shall, on conviction, be
punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three
months or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees; or with
both. It may please be noted that an offence punishable under this
Act is cognizable.
It is to inform
through this public notice that appropriate legal action under this
Act will be taken against all organizations, political or other
parties, persons which are found to be responsible for such
defacement.
